Common misconceptions about hearing aids are that they’re huge, bulky and everyone will know that you’re wearing them. All three of these misconceptions are exaggerated and couldn’t be further from the truth. At Beltone, we offer many different styles of hearing aids, including those that sit within the ear canal, and are invisible to other people. Unless you have someone intentionally looking in your ear to find a hearing aid, no one will even know you’re wearing one! Here are three popular styles of hearing aids that are virtually invisible:

Inner ear hearing aids

Inner ear hearing aids, also known as “completely-in-canal” (CIC) are tiny hearing aids that are created by taking an ear canal impression of your inner ear to give you a tailored fit. This type of hearing aid is best suited for those with mild-to-moderate hearing loss.

In the ear hearing aids

In-the-ear hearing aids (ITE) are also custom-made by taking an impression of the outer portion of your ear. These hearing aids are larger than the CIC hearing aids but are best suited for those with mild-to-severe hearing loss.

In the canal hearing aids

In the canal hearing aids (ITC) are also custom made by taking an impression of your ear canal and the surrounding area. They are a little larger than CIC hearing aids but are still virtually invisible to those around you. ITC hearing aids offer easy insertion and removal and longer battery life. They are best suited for those with mild-to-moderate hearing loss.
